RIVERSTAGE
Address:
  • Situated within the City Botanic Gardens next to the Brisbane River. Riverstage is located at 59 Gardens Point Road, Brisbane.
Getting There:
  • Public transport is recommended due to the lack of public car parking near the venue.

    By bus
  • There are bus stops on Alice Street outside the City Botanic Gardens.

    To get to Riverstage from Alice Street:

    1. Enter the City Botanic Gardens main entrance (opposite Albert Street) and follow the main path through the Gardens.
    2. Continue past the City Gardens Cafe. This path will take you to the top of the Riverstage complex. Visit the TransLink website for bus timetables.

    By train
  • To get to the City Botanic Gardens you can stop at either:

    • South Bank Railway Station

      To get to Riverstage from this station:

      1. Follow the signs to the Maritime Museum/Goodwill Bridge.
      2. Cross the Goodwill Bridge. This will take you to the bottom of the Riverstage complex and the gate entrance.

      The distance from the rail station to Riverstage is approximately 1.1 kilometres and walking time is approximately 20 minutes.

    • Central Station

      To get to Riverstage from this station:

      1. Exit out onto Ann Street and walk down to Edward Street (the end of Edward Street becomes Alice Street).
      2. Follow Alice Street to the City Botanic Gardens main entrance (opposite Albert Street) and follow the main path through the gardens.
      3. Continue past the City Gardens Cafe. This path will take you to the top of the Riverstage complex.

      The distance from the rail station to Riverstage is approximately 2 kilometres and walking time is approximately 25 minutes.

      By private coach
    • Contact Brisbane City Council to arrange drop-off and pick-up zones if you use private coach.

      By car
      1. Travel up Alice Street, Brisbane (past the City Botanic Gardens).
      2. Once you pass Government House, keep in the far left lane.
      3. Exit left at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) sign into Gardens Point Road, before you reach the Riverside Expressway. Follow this road as it runs beside QUT.
      4. You will reach a roundabout with a tree in the centre. Following the roundabout is a pedestrian/car shared zone. Immediately after this, on your right, is the Riverstage driveway.
    • During an event, the road will be closed from the roundabout. The roundabout becomes a pick-up/drop-off zone.

    Car parking
    • There is no parking at Riverstage. However, you can park at South Bank and take a short stroll over the Goodwill Bridge.

    What To Bring:
    • There are no ATM or EFTPOS facilities at the venue so please bring cash on the day.

    Food and Drink:
    • Food and drink outlets are located at various locations within Riverstage and supply a wide range of products. No food or drinks are allowed to be brought into Riverstage.
    • If you would like to enquire on the food available at the venue, or have special dietary requirements, email the Riverstage Venue Operations Manager.

    Safety:
    • General admission at the Riverstage is standing room only. Most of the venue is grassed area on a gentle slope.

    • You cannot bring the following into the venue:
      • chairs / elevated seating
      • skateboards
      • studded fashion items
      • cameras
      • video or audio recorders of any type
      • umbrellas
      • laser pointing devices
      • large flashlights and torches
      • fireworks of any kind
      • eskies
      • full (or empty) beverage bottles, cans or containers of any kind
      • weapons of any kind
      • any other items considered to be harmful to others
    • Additional items may be added to the prohibited list as required.
    • For more information on prohibited items, email the Riverstage Venue Operations Manager.
    • All bags will be searched. A personal safety and security search is a condition of entry. Prohibited items can be deposited at the cloakroom. Illegal items will be confiscated.
    • Patrons must not stand on bins or fences. All injuries caused and or suffered as a result is the patron's responsibility.

    Pass outs:
    • No pass-outs are given for re-entry into the venue, unless otherwise advertised.

    Conditions of Entry - Licensed Event:
    • Licensing laws do not allow any alcohol to be brought into the venue.
    • Proof of age will be required to purchase alcoholic beverages.
    • OVER 18 only. No ID No Entry. No Person under 18 years will be permitted entry into the venue. Security also has the right to refuse entry to any patron who is unable to provide suitable proof of age identification regardless of their age.

    Bad Weather Policy:
    • Riverstage is an outdoor amphitheatre. If rain or bad weather occurs the show will proceed unless deemed unsafe to do so. No refunds will be authorised unless the event is cancelled.

    Wheelchair Access:
    • Contact Riverstage for more information about wheelchair access.

    Smoking:
    • Riverstage is a no smoking venue. However, smoking is permitted in designated smoking areas.

    Cloak rooms:
    • Cloak rooms only receive items that are prohibited from entering the venue. For more information on prohibited items, refer to the 'Safety' section above.
